His tough stance against developed nations during the prolonged and tortuous negotiations has also earned him brownie points from the Swadeshi brigade. How he and his team will deal with the pressure tactics from developed nations in December 2005 will be closely watched. That is when crucial ministerial level talks to make a final attempt to sort out WTO disputes will be made in Hong Kong. If Nath and his colleagues from other third world nations can actually make the developed countries blink, his stature as a politician is bound to grow manifold in India.
